Bridesmaids Dresses For a Night Out

Tonight is the night-- quite possibly one of the most wardrobe demanding eves of the year, and the perfect little number might be hanging in your the form of "the bridemsaids dress."

These past seasons collections have been filled with dresses that are worthy of another night out, and here are a few of my favorites.

A little Monique Lhuillier....good enough for celebrities- good enough for  me!

Jim Hjelm knocks it out of the park with this one!

This precious peplum is right on the fashion mark. Another great gown from Jim Hjelm.

Quite possibly the most impeccable set of lace lovelies from Watters. Gorgeous!

Pair these precious gowns with some colored, or sparkly tights, killer stems, dazzling dangly earrings, and you are set to ring in the new year!

Bridal Boleros

It might be 80 degrees today in central Texas, but it IS December, and I tend to prefer styles that are seasonal rather than corresponding to the ever changing weather. That leads us to a great winter accessory- the bolero.

Just as with any bridal accessory, I highly recommend making a personal statement with each addition to your gown, and staying as true to yourself as possible. That being said, adding a layer to a bridal gown can be tricky.

Here are a few stylists' tips with suggestions of how to properly layer your bridal style:

1.) Add texture.

I love, love, love the addition of fluttery, feather like details in the short bolero to this supple satin Jim Hjelm gown. Sure, it might not add a whole lot of warmth, but it packs on a ton of glam to this sassy bridal look. (Be sure to wear your hair up with this style...otherwise it will appear too messy.)

2.) Be current.

Covering your shoulders during a formal wedding ceremony is nothing new, but just as any other accessory, there are trends to keep up with. This season- THE CAPE. This look is not for the fashion forward bride that views the aisle as her very own the catwalk. Pronovias is the first of the season to utilize this UK trend....and you can bet, many will soon follow.

3.) Keep your style consistent.

We all know that Lazaro  can "shred" a skirt like no other, and when you are making such a bold and beautiful statement....use it! The addition of this similar organza layering effect in the bolero completes this gorgeous style impeccably. The best part of this need for a veil. There is enough going on to command attention without another addition.

 4.) Be you.
It could be that you were not planning on wearing anything to cover your shoulders until you hear the weather forecast for your outdoor affair, or the officiant's traditional rules for the ceremony. No matter, you got this. Take note from the always chic, Sarah Seven.  She took it upon her stylish self to add a supple leather cropped jacket to her dainty lace number for this upcoming seasons' collection. Doesn't get much cooler than this!!
